Three ways in

Most jobs on Convert PDF start one of three ways. If the thing you want lives on another site โ€” a YouTube video, a TikTok, a Reel โ€” you paste the link and pick a quality or MP3. If the file is already yours, you upload it and pick what it should become. And for the little jobs (a QR code, a bit of text, a unit conversion) you just type and go. Every tool page on the site is one of those three shapes, so once you have done one, you have done them all.

The actual steps

Pick the tool. Paste the link or drop the file in. Set the one or two options that matter โ€” output format, trim points, speed โ€” and press the button. A short ad plays while the job starts (that ad is the entire business model; it is why there is no sign-up wall), the conversion runs on the server, and your finished file downloads. On a normal file the whole thing, ad included, is under a minute.

What happens to your file

Your upload lands in a one-off temporary folder, gets processed, and is deleted the moment your download finishes. Link downloads are fetched and streamed straight to you. Nothing is kept, catalogued or shared โ€” the site is deliberately built so there is no archive of user files to leak, sell or lose.

When it does not work

Three causes cover almost every failure: the source post is private or login-only (no downloader can fetch those), the file is over the 200 MB upload limit (compress or trim it first, with the tools right here), or the file is in a rare codec (re-export it from its original app in a common format). The docs page has the full troubleshooting list.
